Representing the Federal Army Reserve
A Voice for the Army Reserves!
The Reserve Officers Association (ROA) represents members of the seven United States Uniformed Services, the men and women who serve our Nation in the cause of freedom need and deserve a voice in creating government policy. ROA provides that voice. Respected, vigorous, effective—ROA has a long list of policy accomplishments, and an ambitious long-range program for the coming decade and beyond. Founded in 1922, and chartered by Congress in 1950, ROA's mission is to "...support and promote the development and execution of a military policy for the United States that will provide adequate National Security." In one of their significant initiatives ROA is following a VA study of Reservist claims. Recently LtGen Dennis McCarthy, ROA Executive Director met with Secretary Dunne to discuss some recently published articles that show that VA claims filed by Reserve Component members have a higher denial ratio, and receive a lower overall disability rating (than their active component counterparts).
