Fort Dix New Jersy is the Army's largest mobilization station in the United States.
Fort Dix is one of four Department of Defense designated Joint Mobilization Sites. As we continue our mobilization mission to support the Global War on Terrorism we also serve as the major training center of the Northeastern United States for United States Army Reserve and National Guard soldiers. On 1 October 1997, Fort Dix transferred from Forces Command to the United States Army Reserve Command.
Today, Fort Dix is a major training and mobilization center for the Reserve Component soldiers - the Army Reserve and National Guard.
"Fort Dix is the Home of the Ultimate Weapon, the Infantryman. He is our symbol of pride in what we do on a daily basis; able to carry more than our share of the task, ready to fight and ready to protect our country. We are dedicated to providing world-class facilities and services to the Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, contractors and their families who selflessly devote themselves to preserving our nation’s freedom.
One Family… One Team… One Fight"
Colonel Ronald R. Thaxton, the Installation Commander, tells us it is his "great pleasure to lead the team of Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, contractors and their families who make up this installation. We have a diverse customer base which includes Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, Department of Defense, Federal and State of New Jersey agencies. Taking care of customers is a high priority; however, taking care of our families is our top priority."
