Army Reserve Recruiting Assistance Program, AR-RAP
A concrete indicator was the professional looking Post card I received that declared "Congratulations!" Then in the center it said: "Colonel, Thank you for your participation in AR-RAP. This card includes useful information concerning your new Potential Soldier."
It went on to quote LTG Jack Stultz: "The key is unit-based recruiting." On the reverse side it begins with: Colonel, thank you for nominating William in your AR-RAP account." This is followed by: "You have completed your first step...."
The AR-RAP is a solid program, a new approach and initiative by the Army Reserve to seeking volunteers through networking which itself as time immemorial - knowledgeable people talking to others about their experiences.
It involvess those who are either in the United States Army Reserve or, in my case and for others, have been in the Army Reserve, talking to young prospective soldiers about the benefits of joining and serving with their local Army Reserve unit, and for a cause larger than themselves.
This program merits everyones support. CSM LeRoy Haugland, (416th ENCOM) and an ARA Life Member suggested it to me. Each of you reading this should also "Join in this effort" and should suggest it to others. In this "All-Vol" recruiting enviornment, networking is a worthwile approach.
